PHILOSOPHY

For over three years I have been touting my new Tractatus to be a contemporary equivalent of Wittgenstein’s text. I realize the somewhat pretentious nature of my claim. But I offer an outline of my research.

1⁰ NECESSITY

I draw my inspiration from “Exchange Rate Dynamics Redux” (1994) by Maurice Obstfeld and Kenneth Rogoff. I elaborate the terms of my discourse in sequential order from 1⁰ to 6⁰ .

For our sequence we associate a set of elasticities θc₁ with each commodity C_1. An excess in demand will shift prices up, and move the associated price levels down. Our value C₁ will now be associated with a higher price p₀.

Our sentences correspond to these commodities.

2⁰  SUBSTANCE

When a sentence is asserted to express a desire, I call it an ARGUMENT. Notation: A

An argument is formed from an image M of a desired state. The φ-operation expresses this desire in words.

To express the urgency for a desired state, I determine the necessary character of the ARGUMENT.

I use a matrix to determine the relation among the terms.

(ARGUMENT TIMES NECESSITY) is GREATER THAN ( IMAGE TIMES EVIDENCE)

INTERPRETATION: I use the my argument to shape the evidence so that its corresponding image necessarily supports my argument.

GROWTH x ASSETS > RATE x DEBT

Soundness of investment strategy can be given a thumbnail sketch. I will expand later.

ON NARRATIVE: The system challenges the character with a mission that appears to contradict his attempts to deviate from that system. The hero asserts himself contrary to the sovereign.

3⁰ FICTION

Mechanistic models determine a sequential elaboration of desired states. I determine a biology: ς (A).

I apply the biology to experience.

4⁰ FLOW

An alternative to the discrete analysis of propositions in terms of truth tables. The description captures the flow of discourse and describes value as the intent to relate actual sentences to context. In the past, I have called the context for a sentence the access structure. Fiction is described as the time during which an access structure is applied.
