THE PROPOSAL

A NOVEL BASED ON PSYCHIC PHENOMENON

A spurned lover believes that there is a magical world where she might be able to influence her love’s return. A chance meeting at the grocery store gets a shopper thinking about romantic possibilities. The buyer of a lottery ticket senses that his special insight might allow him to pick the right numbers. People look to these unseen forces to help rescue them from the doldrums of their mundane work routine. The reader picks up a novel that gives meaning to the disconnected events in her life. Eventually, she is able to find comfort in recognizing recognize deeper patterns in her own world.

In Groundswell, the characters feel that their bodies have been affected by their psychic encounters. This witnessing would be something akin to stigmata, the indelible marking of the physical body. Except these people feel that their behavior is influenced by psychic traces. And they strive to decipher these secret hieroglyphs.

The reader feel touched by a similar experience. Thus, we are writing a novel that documents the influence of psychic forces on the reader. We offer a visual analogy. Imagine if psychic energy could leave traces of its activity on photographic paper. Then the novel is this photo paper that awaits the imprint of these mysterious forces. And the reader is the conductor for the psychic energy.

THE ARTIST

KENNY CRUCIAL IS AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE ATLANTA UNDERGROUND CLUB SCENE.

His observation of the connection between music social behavior has been the basis for his extensive artistic and academic work. He has written music, poetry, and novels. He has made an effort to share his experiences with the larger community. Underground subcultures continue to provide a fertile ground of inspiration. The active observer needs to become part of the experience, to immerse the self in the magic of the dance floor. Kenny has paid close attention to the lessons of this unique world.

THE RESEARCH

GROUNDSWELL will be the culmination of an extensive process of social research. While the intent is to create an entertaining work of literature, the subject matter requires deeper insight into how people think and act. Kenny intends to continue his full-time investigation

The research includes a combination of mathematical and economic inquiry which helps to yield patterns of interaction that go unnoticed by the average observer. As well, an exhaustive analysis of the techniques of story-telling can help in revealing the so-called psychic effects that influence the reader.

It is the hope of this endeavor that the results include a form of knowledge with far-reaching social consequences. Beyond an ability to describe economic and marketing behaviors, the discoveries will enlighten us about new forms of social activism.
